Keep praying
I will talk to the Father, and he'll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you. John 14:16 (The Message)
Adam is staying at least the night at Methodist to be certain about breathing problems, and a probable quick return to RHI. They have ruled out pneumonia as well as a blood clot---good news. The medical staff thinks this is not a big deal, but of course, to family, a lot of things are a big deal.
Big city emergency rooms are some of the most interesting places on this planet. What a mix of people and their needs! Today I found myself with the same hands clinging to my arm that were gripping tightly at the Haunted House a couple of nights ago. Only this time, it wasn't a haunted house, but the emergency room(s) at Methodist. After the initial shock, I was proud to see the compassion from my children that I have seen in my father and experienced myself. They were almost (not quite) as concerned about a few other patients as for their cousin Adam.
We had a prayer time with Adam with only a curtain separating us from the noise and hubbub. Please continue praying, specifically for a balance of pushing Adam toward recovery and supporting him in his needs.

Goodmorning! Glad to read that Adam may get to return to RHI tody and that the breathing situation was more scary to you all than to the doctors. You continue to be in my prayers. I am constantly reminded that God is in controll and has a plan for all of us. I trust that God will continue to use Adam (as he did in bringing Tamara to Christ) and you all to witness to others. Thanks for the pictures! It's great to see Adam sitting up and you all surrounding him. Ellis..that new camera really comes in handy! Love, Patti Whonsetler
Shermans: Here we go with the ebb & flow of recovery! We are so glad that everything is okay! You know, they have to check out even the tiniest of details as we want them to! Thanks for the pictures! Adam looks good! Keep fighting & believing and we'll keep praying!
Love you -- Pam Doug & Boys
Dear Shermans,
Thanks for the great pictures of Adam and family and friends! He sure looks strong and a definite fighter. We will be praying for his return to rehab and your endurance. Love you guys, Sha'
I love benedictions (good words), and Paul wrote a good one for Adam and for all of us who love Adam:
The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you.
2 Corinthians 13:14(The Message).
We hurt when Adam has problems - so we pray and love.
Ellis, also thank you for the bright pictures. They give us a brightness and hope! So good to see Adam and the family - and the two grandmothers who love him so much!
We count ourselves as some kind of grandparents of Adam!
Love, Joy Batson - Ellis' mother and Amber and Kelsey and Miles' grandmother
Rhetta, I was anxious to see you at church yesterday and then I heard the news of Adam's oxygen levels. I am sure that your faith is just tested and tested by this! What the Lord must see in all of you to trust you all with this situation. I see such love, compassion, strength and beauty in your family and how He is using that in a mighty way to show that glory of His. Prayers will continue from us for Adam to wake up, tell us all where he has been and what he has seen while he was away and for his body to be wholly healed along with his mind renewed by the power of Christ. We send all our love and prayers your way.
Laura
P.S. Thanks for the sweater!
Thank you so much for sharing those precious pictures of Adam with us. My children were happy to put a face with the person they have been praying for. Your family weighs heavy on our hearts and we continue to lift you all up in prayer. Keep holding onto God. He'll never let go of you or Adam. Our love and prayers are with you all. Carrie and family
