Still at Methodist

The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you.
2 Corinthians 13:14(The Message).
The above verse sent by my Mom in the comments to yesterdays blog. I appreciate her matching of verse to situation better now than I did when I was 20.
Adam is still at Methodist, mostly just trying to stabilize the oxygen levels. The best way I can connect is to remember when cars had carbeurators and spending hours fine-tuning the adjustments to get the best sound from the engine. The human body is infinitely much more complex than that, though.
The medical staff is busy doing suctions and adjusting oxygen supply. They seem to think that once Adam is clear, they will be able to wean him off the oxygen again.
Keep the prayers coming!

Holding-on-to-verse -
"God can do anything, you know--far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus!"
With the reaction to reading the blog just now, I had to reach for my holding-on-to-verse for Adam, for all of his dear family and for all of us who feel that we are part of his family and who love him and them!

Dear Cousins,
We just want you to know that we are still thinking of all of you, and pray for Adam's continued improvement. I had an email from Brenda & Aunt Viola. They got to go see your Grandma Norie for her birthday, and said she was doing good.
I need to get an address for Rhetta so that I can send something that I made for Adam. Would one of you mind emailing it to me, or I could send it to any one of you. My email address is: crazyqltr@hotmail.com. Thanks! Please tell Jean hello for me, and that we are all thinking of her as well. Our hearts and prayers go out to you all.

Shermans: Just keep on shining your light for Jesus! Every day there is someone somewhere that needs to see it and I can think of no one better to share it than you! Adam, keep on fighting! Recovery is a strong fight and a short rest, a strong fight and a short rest, etc.

God's peace today!

Good Morning! Adam is on my mind this morning along with you and your whole family, Rhetta. I know how easy it would be for God to just put things right in all of this and that must be so frustrating for you. It is for me!! As Beth Moore showed me in one of her teachings, we have to wait for the fullness of time to come in God's plan. Time doesn't "pass" for God to move, it "comes". Not many things are more difficult for me than to wait on God. My little "situations" cannot compare to what you are waiting on right now. You are so loved, Rhetta! Your family is so loved!

Aunt Rhetta, Uncle Bill, and family,
I had a great visit in Indy. Adam looked great- the best I've seen thus far. Dani and I were very impressed with the staff at RHI, they were so friendly and helpful and very interested in Adam as a person and what he is like. We shared funny stories with them about Adam. Friday when we arrived his eyes popped open and he was responsive. We stayed until visiting hours were over and he was resting peacefully when we left. We got to the hospital early afternoon and stayed until evening when Aunt Rhetta got there. We were happy to give her a much needed break so that she could get things done that she has not been able to. We turned down the lights and watched some TV and talked with Adam. He was very responsive and his eyes were open most of the time we were there. We just hate that we can't be there all the time. Aunt Rhetta, you really suprise me with how well you are doing and how strong you are. We really enjoyed our time with you over the weekend. Thank you for you and our talk. It was nice to see Millie and Bill and it we really enjoyed Millie's cooking. I know my cousin is in good hands at Methodist as well as RHI. Dani and I continue to pray for Adam everyday as do all his friends and family here in Louisville. Many of my friends consider him a cousin to them too and they love him so much. He really touches people and loves people- he definitely makes a lasting impression. I miss our talks and the support and comfort he always gave me when I needed it. Hopefully soon we'll be able to pick up where we left off. I love you A!
Love Amber
p.s. I also really enjoyed spending time with my other two favorite cousins. I love you Josh and Zach! Call me whenever you need to!

Hi, folks. I have been trying to get in touch for awhile. All of you are in our prayers. My new wife, Diane, is a very devout Christian. We were married on September 18th in the Boston area, so that her 101-year-old Mom and other family could attend. We now live in Northbrook near the Lake just minutes from Chicago. I'll keep reading the blog for reports. Please let me know by email if I can do anything. jsdeiss@hotmail.com
