Gratitude

"If the only prayer you say your entire life is "Thank You," that would suffice."
--Meister Eckhart (13th century pastor)

We have many things to be thankful for, and it doesn't stop once Thanksgiving Day is over and we're eating leftovers. Gratitude reminds us that we are not alone, that we are recipients of gifts greater than we earned, and that we are in good hands.
Most people who have been around are saying they are seeing more responsiveness from Adam. We know the fight against infection is taking it's toll in energy, just as it does for any of us, but in between, he knows we are there. Tamara and Amber spent some good, active time there today and reported that Adam responded to their voices and touch. He was obviously tired a little later.
It is good to have family time and share stories, memories and support. A total of 15 people have been at the Shermans now for 2 1/2 days, having a great time.
Sometimes it is easy to focus on the burdens we are carrying and how slowly progress seems to come and forget the good things we are experiencing. Here are some of the good things we've discussed around the family table this weekend:
-Adam is still with us and there is evidence of continued improvement.
-So many wonderful friends keep giving and giving.
-We have been touched by the widespread responses and spiritual sharing from so many people (in how many places) through this blog.
-Extended family is so important and remains a source of strength.
-Good things are happening in the lives of other family members and we feel confident in leaning on each other.
-Some potential disasters have been mediated and strength for the journey is being given.
We could go on and on.
Thanks to all who keep praying and sharing.

Sherman Family, So glad to hear you are enjoying family support & company this long weekend. You are all in our prayers for strength, improvement & family unity. As Moses' arms were held up during the battle for victory, so are you, Rhetta, held up by us in prayerful support! God is so good & He knows what you need when you need it. Stay strong, Shermans! God Bless. Love, Laurie Andrews
